Easy to Follow Car Stereo Installation Instructions

If you aren't satisfied with the quality of your current car stereo system or you want to take the quality to another level, you have to get your system replaced with an aftermarket audio system of higher quality.

Now you have the two options to change built-in your car stereo system, either you change it yourself with a car stereo installation kit or contact a professional to replace the stereo system.

*Please note that if you found the logo of (JBL, Infinity, Harmon or BOSE) on your car stereo system, then you have no other option than to contact a qualified professional to install a new stereo system in your car.

In other cases, buy a branded system keeping in view the size of stereo in the dash board of your car and purchase a car stereo installation kit of your car’s brand and follow the car stereo installation instructions.

Some time ago, I decided to change my car stereo system and first, I worked on an already installed radio, I took measurements of the radio and purchased a stereo pre of the same size to get fit in my car’s dash board. Then, I purchased a car stereo installation kit and correct wiring to get it attached.

You need to keep few very important things in mind before installing a new car stereo.

Buy a high quality car stereo installation kit that will provide you the instructions to remove company installed stereo or radio. Make sure it is compatible with your car’s model. Read the installation instructions carefully to avoid potential problems down the road.

Although, you only need a couple of screw drivers to remove the radio, an instruction guide always helps to keep the wiring intact and help you to remove the pre-installed system without creating or causing any problems.

The first step of the installation process is to disconnect the battery terminals. Make sure that negative battery terminal is disconnected. Then remove the company fitted radio very carefully. You might want to be extra careful with the dashboard and not damage anything inside your car.

After removing the previously installed stereo or radio, check the wiring and keep the wiring harness arranged with the new stereo system. Connect the same color wires with one another like black to black, white to white and orange to orange. (Place the new stereo unit in the dash board gently and fix it in the originally designed packing.)

Place the antenna wire in the system and fix the dash pieces again placing the screws back in the right and correct places. If you also have the plans of connecting the amplifier, attach the wires of amplifier to the battery and stereo as per the instructions.

After installing the speakers, make sure all the wire connections are properly done. Connect the battery terminals and check any sparking or loose wiring connections. Play your stereo and check the sound of your stereo, if you feel, the sound is dim and not providing quality, replace the wires of one speaker with one another, you will definitely find the correct combination.

Enjoy the new sound system and remember keep the original radio for backup purposes.
